in the corner, by the hill by puteri inarah
Walking up the hill of tar
Each step took us closer to the clouds
Turn the corner, into a green abyss
Dense foliage sealed the gateway
Our eyes could only go so far
Afraid one touch would pollute the pristine
Suns set and waters fall
Arms above our heads, we stretched to reach
The fluffy pillows that slept up high
Gazes set firm on the ground
Numbers flip its own pages
In this world of grey and brown
Driving up the hill of tar
Dents unchanged that I avoid just the same
Turn the corner, a black edifice
Stark and direct, you arrived unnoticed
Too obvious but still I missed you
I can’t seem to recall the last time I looked
Caw at what once was, it can no longer be found
Step into the fortress for a dose of mortality
Green needles poke from concrete melds
As relief finds my breath
If I walk a bit further, behind and through
I can still see the sun set
